This story gives scant and confusing information about a new test on when women will reach menopause. The opening sentence appears to describe a new test being 'unveil(ed) today that could tell young women the precise age at which they would no longer be able to have babies." Actually, this test, should it ever eventuate, is at least six years of intense testing away. This research, which is at very early stages, received wide coverage in the media. However, it is barely off the laboratory bench top - or more correctly, the lab computer, as the data are based on mathematical models not human beings. This is a beat-up where both the media and the researcher are at fault of deceiving the reader into thinking this research is more impressive than it really is.
